LAURA POLIDORI

I was born in Rome where I graduated with excellent results at ‘La Sapienza’ University. Then I moved to Germany for a PhD in philosophy. Back in Italy, I taught at high schools for more than twenty years while also teaching Italian as a foreign language. I’m now lived in Tuscany since 2006, where I’m engaged in teaching Italian to foreigners and in sustainable tourism projects.
I started teaching Italian to foreigners in the eighties, for the Archdiocese of Cologne, Germany.
I taught the children of Italian immigrants, who spoke German and did not know the Italian language.
I ran courses at the University of Duisburg, for foreign language students and students of technical faculties.

In Bologna I taught Italian on behalf of private companies that welcomed foreign executives and professionals who would then come to live in Italy.

I also taught Italian to Swiss and American children, mostly playing with them, to students who wanted to deepen their knowledge of the language and to immigrants who needed to pass examinations.
In Tuscany, I ran courses for beginners who had just bought a farm and did not speak Italian, but also for people – living in Italy for over  twenty years – who just wanted to read challenging texts and speak better Italian.
I now work with a Swedish agency and every Summer we offer Italian courses at elementary and intermediate level.
I taught and teach Italian…
